Café Northcote, Blackburn’s Cathedral Quarter
A little about Cafe Northcote...
Café Northcote at The Cathedral is located in Blackburn Cathedral's refectory space at Cathedral Court.
The building forms part of the £30m cathedral quarter development of cloisters to the Anglican cathedral, which includes grade A offices, hotel and public square and gardens, conference facilities and an underground car park. Cathedral court is believed to be the first group of new domestic buildings at any English cathedral for 500 years.
The 78-cover café with outside space has created approximately 15 jobs and two apprentice posts. Senior Northcote Manager, Claire Arnold and Senior Chef, Dave Lyons oversee the operation, together with Lucy Bishop as General Manager and Meghan Banks as Head Chef. In addition, a partnership with Blackburn College is planned for work placements and training opportunities.
The café offers modern café food with an eclectic feel, always staying loyal to our local producers and suppliers. The seven-day operation serves breakfast, lunch, coffees, teas, cakes, selected alcoholic drinks, hot drinks and lunches to go.
In addition the café is open on selected Friday and Saturday evening with a seasonal menu which changes often.
