A pair of promising catering students have been offered jobs at Northcote after impressing during their placements.

The duo who are studying Hospitality & Catering Level 3 at Lancaster & Morecambe College (LMC) were offered jobs after working with Executive Chef Lisa Goodwin-Allen who is a former student of LMC herself.

Elle Wright has been at college for 2 years, completing both her Level 2 and Level 3 Catering qualifications and picked up the LMC John Lodge award for culinary excellence.

Elle said: “I’ve had an amazing time at LMC & learned so many different skills. I’ve developed massively as a chef and can’t wait to see what challenges await me at Northcote!”

Ewan Lawrenson-Mckie has also been studying at LMC for 2 years, completing the Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications. His natural culinary skills led him to be awarded the Inter College MasterChef trophy earlier this year and was the recipient of the LMC John Lodge award for culinary excellence last year.

As a former LMC Hospitality & Catering student, Lisa Goodwin-Allen has risen through the catering world and is passionate about passing on her knowledge to the future generation of chefs. She supports and mentors young chefs including sous chef Danny Young, who is the current National Young Chef of the Year.

The pair begin their new jobs in September.
